Unforgettable Escape to Mountain Lake Resort Caliraya: A Fun-Filled Weekend in Cavinti, Laguna

I was recently invited to Cavinti, Laguna for the Takbo Cavinturismo 2023.  I'm excited to share our incredible weekend getaway at Mountain Lake Resort Caliraya in the quaint Laguna town of Cavinti in this blog. It's my second time to be here and I'm quite eager to know what has changed and to experience its latest offerings. I knew I'm in for an intense adventure full of outdoor thrills, stunning views, and moments of pure relaxation. If you're looking for a place to stay in Cavinti, this is one of the best places you should consider.

We left Manila around 8AM and arrived at Mountain Lake Resort before lunch. I was immediately enthralled by the breathtaking natural surroundings as soon as we arrived at Mountain Lake Resort Caliraya. The area was really picturesque that guaranteed a genuinely restorative getaway, nestled among the verdant greens and overlooking the serene Caliraya Lake.

ACCOMODATION

On our first day at the resort, we stayed in their glamping tent. The tent was spacious, enough to fit 2-3 comfortably. When glamping, you don't have to worry about cramped space and lumpy floor. Ours are equipped with 2 single mattresses and the tent was waterproof. It rained heavily on our first night but we stayed dried inside. It would have been lovely stargazing during the night but the heavy rains made it impossible. Outside the tent, it was really windy and cold but inside it was humid. Good thing it rained that night and gave us a little comfort. We also had to unzip the tent's opening after it rained to allow the air to come in.

I really don't mind staying in the tent once in a while but their glamping tent area is kind of far from the rest rooms. Going out in the middle of the night to pee was a little hassle. Also the area where the tents are is the dock area for the boat cruise and swan boats and it was hard to continue sleeping in the morning because of the guests' noise.

Good thing we were transferred to the cabins on our 2nd night. It is more comfortable and a well-equipped cottage. I also stayed here during my first visit and I'm surprised on the 'upgrade' of the cabins. It now offered the ideal balance of comfort and tranquility with its rustic charm and contemporary comforts. Our room was sizeable, enough to fit 6-10 and is perfect for family and group of friends. We woke up to the soothing sounds of nature, feeling rejuvenated and eager to set off on fresh experiences.

OUTDOOR THRILLS AND WATER ADVENTURES

For lovers of the great outdoors, Mountain Lake Resort Caliraya is a paradise. We jumped right into the thrilling activities on offer. Our excitement levels soared as we traversed a difficult obstacle course and zip-lined above the lake. The hanging bridge was a fun and exhilarating experience, too. We also had the opportunity to explore its vast golf course and had the glimpse of the area where we will be running the next day.

Our weekend's highlight was the opportunity to participate in a variety of water activities at Caliraya Lake. Kayaking allowed us to paddle across the calm waters and appreciate the breathtaking scenery. The Caliraya Lake Cruise offered a thrilling rush, feeling the wind in our hair as we zoomed across the lake. A haven for water enthusiasts, the lake's cool embrace provided a pleasant relief from the sweltering heat. We had tons of laughter at the swan boat. This actually reminded me of the boat ride experience I had at Burnham Park in Baguio. It was a 'chill' activity, one that allowed us to 'cool down' after the adrenaline-pumping lake cruise. They also offer banana boat and you can also take photos at their crystal kayak.

We also went fishing. It's my first time to do this and I was excited to have my first catch. Alas, I got none but my other friends were successful. We requested the tilapia to be grilled and we had them in our dinner.

RELAXATION AND TRANQUILITY

Mountain Lake Resort Caliraya gave visitors plenty of chances to unwind amidst the action. We enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere of the swimming pool. The pool side was the perfect to place to hang out with friends during the night. The spa at the hotel provided relaxing treatments to those who wish to ease their stress. Some gathered around a bonfire with beer in their hands as the sun began to set,  laughing under a sky filled with stars.

CULINARY DELIGHTS

The eating selections at the resort were a delightful surprise. At the La Cucina restaurant, we gorged ourselves on a feast of local delicacies and international favorites. Each meal was a festival of flavors, featuring top-quality ingredients and skilled cooking. Our taste buds danced with ecstasy as we ate everything from delectable Beef Salpicao to scrumptious Lucban longganisa for breakfast.
