Hello there, mga ka- rambler! I'm bursting with holiday cheer to share my latest and, quite possibly, most memorable visit yet to one of my absolute favorite getaways: Villa Excellance Beach and Wave Resort in Tanza, Cavite!
If you've been following my adventures for a while, you'll know that Villa Excellance holds a special place in my heart. It's my go-to Cavite resort for a quick escape, a slice of paradise just a stone's throw from the Metro. I've splashed in their wave pools more times than I can count, and honestly, every visit reminds me why this spot truly deserves the title of "one of the best resorts in Cavite." But this trip? This one was different. It was coated in glitter, twinkling lights, and the undeniable magic of the coming Christmas season.
The Main Event: A Stellar Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony!
This time, I was incredibly honored to be invited to a spectacular event: the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony! This was the highlight of my trip, bar none.
Stepping into the resort after sunset, the air was electric. You could feel the anticipation buzzing among the guests. The whole place was transformed into a veritable Christmas wonderland, but the centerpiece was the massive, dazzling Christmas tree.
The program itself was a feast for the senses, a showcase of pure Filipino talent and festive spirit.
Rhythmic Revelry: First up were the Dance and Song Performances. The performers, brought the venue to life with powerful vocals and expertly choreographed routines. The energy was infectious! It was a beautiful reminder of how Pinoys celebrate the holidays—with passion, music, and a lot of heart.

The Fiery Spectacle: Then came the Fire Dances! This was a jaw-dropping interlude that literally lit up the night sky. The dancers moved with breathtaking control, twirling and spinning flaming batons. It was a thrilling contrast of danger and artistry, and the gasps from the audience proved I wasn't the only one completely mesmerized. I have to say the fire dancers of Villa Excellance are one of the best in this field- I mean, I've seen them perform several times already and they keep getting better.

The Grand Illumination: The peak of the evening was the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree. As the resort's management stepped forward and the countdown began—one, two, three!—the entire courtyard erupted in a collective cheer. The majestic tree, which had stood in darkness, instantly blazed to life in a cascade of brilliant, multi-colored lights. It was a moment of pure, unadulterated holiday magic. It wasn't just a switch being flipped; it was the official start of the Christmas season right there in Tanza, Cavite!
A World of Wonder: Following the tree lighting, they unveiled the opening of Christmas on Display. This was a delightful surprise! Intricate holiday scenes, beautifully crafted and glowing warmly, lined the pathways. It felt like walking through a Christmas storybook, a perfect photo opportunity that cemented the start of the long Philippine Christmas.
This night was a grand gesture by Villa Excellance, showing that they don't just offer great pools and rooms—they offer an experience, a memory, and a genuine celebration of the Paskong Pinoy.

Our Home for the Night: The Charming Tulips Room

After the spectacle of the Christmas lighting, we retired to our accommodation for the night: the lovely Tulips Room.
This was my second time staying in the Tulips Room, and I was once again charmed. It's an excellent choice for a couple or a small family looking for a comfortable, clean, and cozy space for their Tanza, Cavite getaway.
The room itself was well-appointed. It offered:
Cozy Comfort: The bed was plush and inviting, exactly what you need after a long day of travel and excitement.
Essential Amenities: The room came equipped with a functioning air-conditioning unit (a non-negotiable in Philippine weather!), a flat-screen TV for unwinding, and a clean, private bathroom with hot and cold shower—a simple luxury that always makes a difference.
A Thoughtful Touch: The interior design had a light, airy feel, a nice complement to the resort’s atmosphere. It’s one of those rooms that just feels right after a day of sun and swimming. It wasn't a giant suite, but it was perfectly sized and very well-maintained, providing a peaceful sanctuary away from the main resort buzz.
While Villa Excellance offers larger family suites and villas for bigger groups, the Tulips Room proved to be a delightful, intimate choice for an overnight stay, ensuring a good night's rest so we could maximize our time by the pools the next day.
