Dry season and summer meant longer days and the sun brighter. Enduring sunny outdoors can be harmful to our skin. The UV radiation from sunlight can cause damage to our skin's DNA. Some of us might be enjoying the sea, sun and sand during this season and this can cause dry and 'weathered' skin.
Summertime is usually a fun time and here are some tips to care for your skin during long exposure under the sun.
- Always wear sunscreen. Apply it before exposing yourself under the sun. Per experts, you should be using at least one with SPF 30. Make sure you reapply for better protection.
- Avoid sun when it's at its brightest-like 10AM-2PM. Wear protective clothing and keep those umbrellas open if you have to walk under the sun. Wear sunglasses with UVA protection.
- Hydrate.
- Eat more fruits and greens. Get regular sleep.
- Drink Vitamin C.
