Pinoy Tennis Trainers (PTT) Holds Advanced Course for Top Local Trainers at Makati Sports Club

Brothers Stephan and Sebastien Lhuillier

It all started three years ago when Stephan Lhuillier encountered a ball boy during one of his tennis session who shared that his usual day rate is P80. From then, this young lad knew something needed to be done and addressed.

This young hero sure made a difference when he founded Pinoy Tennis Trainers (PTT). He envisioned of providing training to equip them with mastery and skills-eventually giving them the opportunity to earn more by booking more clients.

Since its inception, PTT were able to conduct 13 training sessions across the country and produced close to 600 graduates. The team wished to do more, hence, a free two-day tennis workshop for tennis trainers was conducted last Dec. 8-9 at the Makati Sports Club.

Coach Roland Kraut

40 of the country's best local tennis trainers, representing schools and clubs from all over the Metro Manila and Central Luzon gathered for the workshop. Coach Roland Kraut, the only ITF Level 3 coach in the Philippines, along with Stephan and Sebastien Lhuillier, spearheaded the event. Brothers Stephan and Sebastien are young tennis enthusiasts and sons of Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier and Olympian Bea Lucero-Lhuillier.

I am proud of what we have accomplished from the time we launched Happiest Pinoy more than three years ago. I am elated to hear that some of the graduates are now earning high-paying jobs or moved on to become coaches of their respective clubs or local tennis. That's really the purpose of PTT, to create better opportunities to the hardworking men of our local tennis community. - Stephan Lhuillier

Stephan will soon be leaving for US for his college education and he will be passing the torch to his younger brother Sebastien. The 15-year-old Lhuillier is also a well-known tennis player in the local circuit and has represented our country in various meets abroad.

I am thankful to be given this opportunity to serve on a leadership capacity for PTT this 2019. For the past three years, my brother has given opportunities to local trainers by introducing them to Level 1 courses. My goal is to introduce new Level 2 courses, with the help of Coach Roland and also actively pursue international tennis training for our top graduates. - Sebastien Lhuillier

Aside from the coaching and training, PTT also has an Adopt-A-Rocket program where Stephan tapped on his close friends, racket companies, tennis enthusiasts and even national players to donate tennis racket to PPT to be given as incentives to graduates who performed well during the training.
