Miss Earth is about to crown the reigning queen's successor, Karen Ibasco, several days from now. The competition is definitely becoming tighter and it's still everyone's ball game.
Last Oct. 29, the 88 delegates showcased their figures and curves at the Figure and Form Preliminaries held at the Century Park Hotel. The preliminaries will determine the semi-finalists who will compete on several segments on the coronation night. The figure and form Pre-Judging is considered one of the most crucial phases of the competition.
Candidates, clad in black two-piece and wore a dark pair of sunglasses and a hat, were introduced one by one. After everyone has been introduced, the delegates paraded back again, this time without the eye wear and the hat, and with their sash on.
From what I've seen, the Latinas and the Europe group were mighty on this prelims. Venezuela, Spain, Chile, Colombia and Mexico had my eyes on them. Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Ukraine and Slovenia were strong, too. Ghana and South Africa were fiery on stage. Asia's Indonesia, Nepal, Vietnam, Thailand and our very own Philippines wowed the crowd too.
