Magalawa Island: Undiscovered Paradise

I really love to travel whenever I got the chance and of course pag pasok sa budget and schedule which any traveler can relate to. That’s why I’m excited to share this experience.

I want to share my recent trip to Magalawa Island. It’s not typical that you can see it featured on any travel sites so I want to give this breathtaking place a fair recognition (May away teh? Haha!). This secluded paradise in Zambales sure mesmerized me.

From Victory Liner (Monumento) ride a bus going to Sta. Cruz Zambales- with an estimate of 4-5 hours travel you’ll arrive at Masinloc. From there, it is a boat ride going to Magalawa, Island.

After a 45 minute boat ride from Masinloc, the beautiful paradise Magalawa is revealed!

A stretch of nipa cottages and children playing at the shore welcomed our arrival.

As it was already lunch time, we decided to eat first. Perfect for a boodle fight!

Obligatory selfie. Ain't this a nice place to stroll?

Uncrowded shore line. Pristine, clear waters. Ultimately, the perfect view!

 A nice spot to chill.

Aura!

Put your toes in the sand. Habulin nyo 'ko! Ahihihi.

Who says you have to go to Palawan to have a photo op with starfish? They are abundant here- a proof that Magalawa Island is 'healthy'.

Fall asleep under the shade of these palm trees. Let the birds chirping be your lullaby.

Groufie!

Get set to get wet. The waters are inviting. I'm in love!

Oh the lazy days!

Tid bits:
  • There's an entrance fee of P100. For some reason, we were not charged of this. Consider us lucky. :)
  • Shower rooms are available. One has to fetch water from a pump- so be ready to flex those muscles.
  • There's a sari-sari store, just in case you need to buy stuff. Or drop by the Masinloc Market before the boat transfer.
  • Loud music are not allowed and there's no videoke.
  • This is no Boracay. Expect the place to be quiet and serene.
  • The cottages can be rented for those who wish to stay overnight, Yes, it got electricity.
  • We shelved P1,500 for this trip- fare, food, boat transfer, accommodation and pasalubong. Not bad, right?
We sure had a pleasant time and we will definitely be back again. The tans will fade but the memories will last forever. See you again, Magalawa Island!
