It was another 'check' in my bucket list last weekend- finally, I set foot on the beautiful island of Calaguas!
Calaguas is a group of islands in Camarines Norte. It includes the major islands of Tinaga and Guintinua, the minor Maculabo island and other minor islands.
It was at least an 8 hour van ride to Camarines Norte. We had a quick breakfast upon arrival at Paracale. From there, it was another 1.5 hour boat ride to Tinaga Island where the long beach called Mahabang Buhangin is located.
It was a long trip, indeed.. but it was worth the wait!
Crystal clear waters--I'm in love!
Powdery white sand
Calaguas is a tropical island PARADISE!
We definitely had fun with the sea, sun and sand!
During the afternoon, we explored the place and climbed a hill for a 360 degree view of the island.
Ain't this majestic?
This is life!
The view from the top of the hill.. I can feel the island breathe..
I'd ran out of superlatives to describe Calaguas. The sea and sand can match that of Boracay. The place was very much laid back- no electricity, no phone signal, no ATM. You sleep inside a tent or simply lie on the sand and count the many stars during the night.
This is Boracay minus the busyness and the noise. A great place to hang out with family and friends at a super affordable budget.
We surely had a great time!
Thank you Calaguas.. I'd definitely visit again!
