I was recently at Davao del Sur, a charming province in Mindanao. 1. Big 8 Corporate Hotel Digos

Imagine being in a sophisticated yet cozy space that instantly makes you feel at home. The Big 8 Corporate Hotel Digos' luxurious accommodations and contemporary features are spot on. This hotel offers accommodations for both leisure and business travelers. Take a cool plunge in their dazzling pool or treat yourself to a gourmet experience at the restaurant located on the premises. This location is a true home away from home, complete with amenities that cater to the needs of today's discerning travelers and free Wi-Fi.

I can say I was impressed by the stylish retreat and the well-appointed accommodation but our breakfast dining experience could be improved. We stayed as a group and our booking included a plated breakfast. I think they were understaffed that time with only one to prep our orders- a choice of big 'silog' meal with pancakes. It took them an hour before we were served. Other than this, everything was OK.

2. Camp Sabros

For those who want adventure, Camp Sabros is the perfect refuge. This distinctive lodging, tucked away amid Davao Del Sur's stunning scenery, provides more than simply a place to stay—it gives an experience. Imagine having the excitement of ziplining right outside your door and waking up to the clear mountain air. Camp Sabros is an exciting getaway that offers more than just a place to stay. Enjoy the splendor of nature while camping in style in one of their charming cottages.

I can say that Camp Sabros is one of my favorite places in Davao del Sur. The place reminds me of Baguio, one of my happy places. The air is chilly, the smell of the pine trees and the fog give it a romantic feel. The dining areas are also reminiscent of Camp John Hay and is every Instagrammers' dream come true! It has a lot of vintage areas and every spot is photo-worthy!

We stayed in the biggest cottage (Upper White House) that they have- big enough to accommodate 10 pax. Inside, it was modern and chic. From the second floor, one has the view of Mt. Apo. Over-all our stay here could have been seamless if not of (another) dining experience issue. I don't want to elaborate more on this but I think customer service can be improved.

3. Montefrio Garden Resort

The hospitality at Montefrio was top notch. This was my first impression when we arrived at the place. The owner and manager were there to welcome us and we were immediately escorted to their conference hall were mouth-watering hand-made pizza and drinks await.

This resort has lovely rooms, verdant grounds, and a tranquil atmosphere that will calm your nerves. For the ultimate in relaxation, take a leisurely stroll around the immaculate grounds or swim in their pool. The pool gave us the best view of both Mt. Matutum and Mt. Apo. The tranquil haven of Montefrio Garden Resort is ideal for anyone looking to unwind amid the splendor of the nature's beauty.

And yes, the food was the best!

Montefrio gave us the view of 2 mountains. At my back is the Mt. Apo.

4. Haven's Dew Resort

Haven's Dew Resort is tucked away in Sitio Balutakay in Bansalan, Davao del Sur. They have different rooms that can cater to couples and families. They also offer glamping accommodations.

During my visit here, we stayed in a 2-storey house that can accommodate 10 pax. Each floor has 5 single beds. There are also 2 toilet and baths on each floors which is convenient because we don't have to go to the hassle of longer waiting shower or bathroom time. 

The 1st floor has a convenient lay-out; enough for everyone to go around and not stumble upon other beds. Ours at the second floor felt cramped and looked like it can only fit in 4 beds for the dwellers to comfortably walk around. 

Glamping at Haven's Dew Resort

What I love about Haven's Dew Resort is its attractions. The place is surrounded with lush flora and everywhere I look is just calming and soothing to the eyes. They also offer sky bike and zip line. Function hall is available to accommodate any occasion and they also have a KTV room and a swimming pool.
