The Dome Hotel: Your Aesthetic and Cozy Stay in Puerto Princesa, Palawan

If you have been frequenting my blog and my social media accounts, you probably know already how much I love Palawan. And who would not? The pristine shores and lush landscapes of Palawan have long cemented its status as the Philippines' "Last Frontier." While El Nido and Coron (one of my happy places) often steal the spotlight for their dramatic limestone cliffs and hidden lagoons, the capital city of Puerto Princesa offers a unique charm—a gateway to nature's marvels, coupled with the comforts of urban accessibility. For travelers seeking an accommodation that perfectly marries aesthetic appeal, exceptional comfort, and a serene beachfront location, look no further than The Dome Hotel Puerto Princesa. I have been wanting to stay here and during my recent 20-day trip in Puerto Princesa, I finally had it checked in my bucket list!

Forget the conventional box-style rooms you're used to. The Dome Hotel redefines the Palawan experience with its signature dome-shaped accommodations, providing a stay that is not only cozy and incredibly comfortable but also a feast for your Instagram feed. From outside, the dome rooms look small, but don't be deceived- it is very spacious inside! This newly opened gem, strategically located on Hartman Road, Wescom, Brgy. San Pedro, offers a quiet and serene environment, making it the perfect base for a relaxing escape while remaining a convenient 10 to 15-minute ride from the city center and the airport. It truly is the ultimate haven where you can unwind after a day of exploring Palawan’s world-famous attractions.

The Dome Room Experience

The moment I stepped into the accommodation, I was greeted by its captivating and unique architectural design. The individual dome-shaped rooms are instantly recognizable and contribute greatly to the hotel’s aesthetic positioning. From the outside, you might assume the space is compact, but step inside, and you'll be pleasantly surprised. The dome’s high ceiling and clever layout create an incredibly spacious and airy feel, defying external appearances.

The Comfiest Mattress I Have Experienced

The true highlight of the room, and what truly sets The Dome Hotel apart, is the unparalleled comfort of its twin beds. I’ve traveled across the archipelago, but the mattress at The Dome Hotel is, without exaggeration, the comfiest I have ever experienced, to date. Imagine sinking into a cloud after a long day of island hopping or caving. The quality of the mattress ensures a deep, restorative sleep—the kind that recharges you fully for the next day's adventures.

Modern Amenities for a Seamless Stay

The dedication to guest comfort extends to the carefully curated in-room amenities. Each dome is a mini sanctuary equipped with modern conveniences for a seamless and enjoyable stay:

  • Smart TV: Perfect for unwinding with a movie or catching up on your favorite series.
  • Mini-Ref: Ideal for keeping your drinks and local snacks cool.
  • Complimentary Coffee: A welcome morning ritual to kickstart your day.

The bathroom facilities are equally impressive. The spacious T&B is a delight, featuring all the essentials you need. In line with the hotel's commitment to sustainability, they provide environmental-friendly toiletries, a thoughtful touch that appeals to the conscious traveler. The shower pressure is fantastic, and the overall cleanliness is impeccable—a non-negotiable for any top-tier accommodation.

A Culinary Delight at Regada Café

Your sensory journey continues at Regada Cafe, the hotel’s in-house restaurant, where I enjoyed both my breakfast and a delicious dinner. The cafe exudes a welcoming, cozy atmosphere that perfectly complements the hotel's vibe.

Hearty, Big Serving Meals

One of the most notable aspects of the dining experience at Regada Cafe is the excellent value for money. The portions are anything but skimpy; I was genuinely impressed by the big serving sizes. Whether you're fueling up with breakfast before a tour or winding down with dinner, the meals are substantial and satisfying.

  • Breakfast: I started my day with a plated breakfast- a 'Tapsilog' being my choice and a big French press of brewed coffee.
  • Dinner: I highly recommend trying their dinner menu. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the generous servings and the quality of the food. It's the kind of honest, comforting food that feels like a warm hug after a day out in the sun.

Fronting the Sea: The Pool and Beachfront Bliss

The Dome Hotel’s location along Hartman Road grants it a truly desirable feature: a fantastic outdoor pool enveloped by tall coconut trees and fronting Hartman Beach. The pool area is a tranquil oasis. The sight of the swaying palms against the bright blue sky, with the inviting pool stretching out toward the sea, is the epitome of tropical relaxation. It’s an ideal spot for an afternoon dip or simply lounging with a good book and a refreshing drink from the bar.

The proximity to Hartman Beach means you have immediate access to a quieter stretch of shoreline. It's not a private beach, but it offers a peaceful spot for a leisurely stroll, sunset viewing, or just listening to the gentle lapping of waves, and humming of birds. This quiet and serene setting further emphasizes why The Dome Hotel is perfect for a relaxing stay.
