Cebu Pacific Inaugurates Direct Flights from Manila to Chiang Mai, Expanding Network in Southeast Asia

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines' top airline, launched its first direct flights from Manila to Chiang Mai, Thailand, on October 29, making it the only Philippine carrier to offer this convenient route. This exciting new service runs three times weekly—every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday—providing more Filipinos with an affordable and seamless way to experience northern Thailand’s cultural and scenic wonders.

Manila to Chiang Mai: Direct and Accessible

The inaugural event at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) was graced by His Excellency Mr. Tull Traisorat, the Ambassador of Thailand to the Philippines, and Ms. Yatika Kaewborisoot, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao expressed the airline's dedication to expanding travel opportunities for Filipino travelers, highlighting the new route’s convenience and cost-saving benefits.

Cebu Pacific’s direct service to Chiang Mai reduces total travel time by up to eight hours and cuts travel expenses by up to 64%, making it a game-changer for Filipinos eager to visit Thailand. This route will allow travelers to experience Chiang Mai’s annual Lantern Festival, explore renowned temples like Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, and shop for unique Thai handicrafts without the lengthy layovers.
