Time flies so
fast! Suddenly, we’re at the second quarter of the year and here comes
everybody’s favorite season – summer! Have you already planned out where to go
with your family? The point here is to spend quality time with them, have a
break from the stresses of everyday life, and just chill out. If you haven’t
yet and is considering the beach, for now, to save the international trips for
later, read on for some insights.
Health benefits
of going to the beach
I don’t know
about you, but for many, it isn’t a summer well spent without a trip to the
beach. There’s something about the blue water, walking in the sand, and
enjoying the sun in your most comfortable clothes. To say it’s relaxing is an
understatement. The many health benefits of hitting the beach are even proven
by science. Because it leads to the production of the happy chemical serotonin,
it relieves anxiety, hormonal imbalance, immune system, while saltwater fights
of infection.
Beaches near
Metro Manila
Thanks to the
long weekend brought about by the Holy Week, you can reflect and relax with
your family and friends. To make it a relaxing experience as well for the
driver though, the best thing to do is to opt for a beach near Manila. After all, near doesn’t mean it
wouldn’t be nice. The key here is to take your time to find the best fit and
plan the trip well enough. Make sure that there is something for everyone –
activities, food, and great accommodation.
Here you go with
4 recommended beaches you can drive to (which also wouldn’t cost much to
enjoy):
Anilao Beach in
Mabini, Batangas
Of course, we’ll
have Batangas here! Anilao is known for being a scuba diving destination in the
country. You may reach your choice of resort via a 3-hour drive from Manila or
riding a bus in Cubao terminal. With friends, you can go for the resort that
offers activity packages for groups other than scuba diving such as kayaking
and snorkeling. This helps you forecast your budget.
Boracay de Cavite
in Ternate, Cavite
This beach resort
is a small cove inside Gregorio Lim Marine Base in Calumpang Ternate, Cavite.
Although the grayish sand is not yet ready to be compared with that of in the
Boracay that we all know, it is fine and soft. Entrance fee is so cheap – you
may want to invite all your relatives for an instant family reunion. Cottages
are first come, first serve though, so best to be there early. You can bring
foods and drinks or buy in the nearby store.
Liw-Liwa Beach in
San Felipe, Zambales
Who’s up for
surfing? This beach in Zambales is a good destination for when you can’t travel
to Aurora, La Union, and Siargao just yet. Since Liw-Liwa Village is borne out
of Mt. Pinatubo’s eruption, expect a long stretch of gray sand. You can also
enjoy the mountains of Zambales as the backdrop. Bring your own tent.
Kwebang Lampas in
Pagbilao, Quezon
Let’s go a little
further and drive for another hour or two to Quezon. Kwebang Lampas with its
white sand beach is something new to add to your list of beaches to visit.
There are many coconut trees and nice cottages near the shoreline that would
certainly look good on your Instagram feed. What’s more, is you can also swim
in the water-filled cave. Bring your own food, okay?
There you go with
recommended beaches near Metro Manila you may visit in the coming holiday
break. To add to the many reasons that make visiting the beach beneficial to
your health, you’d also have a series of good sleep afterward. This means can
expect to come back refreshed, happier, and definitely healthier.
Truly, it’s more
fun in the Philippines, as it doesn’t need to cost much to maximize the long
weekend. Now probably, just like millions of people, your ultimate dream is to
save enough money to retire and invest in properties near the beaches, right?
