It was another pizza adventure last February 13. I, along with other bloggers and social media influencers, got lucky to be invited at the launch of Shakey's newest flavor- the Louisiana Shrimp Pizza at Paseo de Magallanes. Being the pizza monster that I am, I can not say no.
Pizza is one of my comfort food. The gooey cheese, toppings and sauce are like a vibrant chorus every time I munch on a slice of pizza. This latest offering from Shakey's sure had me salivating.
The Louisiana Shrimp Pizza of Shakey's was inspired by the Louisiana cuisine- them being famous for their seafood heritage. Louisiana cuisine is arguably one of the more flavorful cultures in the world. French, African, American and French- Canadian cultures have made them a delicious melting pot. In fact, their
reverence for premium seafood has led them to be the number one provider of
shrimp, oysters, crab, crawfish, and even gator in the United States!
Taking
inspiration from this rich culture, Shakey’s has taken pains to ensure that this
seafood bounty is reflected in their newest pizza offering. Presenting, the new
Louisiana Shrimp Pizza!
Plump and juicy shrimps marinated in Cajun spice blend,
and strips of freshly cut basil leaves are
spread over their famous Thin Crust
pizza and served on top of a special herbed garlic sauce. Light and delectable,
this pizza is definitely a catch for your taste buds!
This pizza is without the usual tomato sauce in your pizza. I liked the crunchy shell of its thin crust. I must admit I'm a big fan of any beef-topped pizza, but the juicy shrimps of the Louisiana Pizza was hard to resist! Truly, the shrimps complemented the herbed garlic spread and cheddar + mozzarella cheese. Paired with their pasta and chicken and mojos-- it's a guaranteed gastronomic feast!
The Louisiana Shrimp Pizza is another Shakey's offering every pizza lover should not miss. What's there not to love? And yeah, I wish it becomes a main staple in their menu.
