Travel Guide to Batlag Falls, Rizal (What To Do, How To Go + Budget)

It is officially dry season. If you're on a budget and wanting to have a quick escape from the bustling city of Metro Manila- look no further because Batlag Falls, found in Tanay, had you covered.

This sanctuary is just 2-3 hours away from Manila. It's cascade, the view of the foamy water falling over the rocks and the natural greens is sure to rejuvenate and make you feel relaxed.

Who will not fall in love with this beauty?

Batlag Falls is just a 10 minute trek from Daranak Falls. It is less crowded than Daranak- probably because one has to exert an effort climbing it or maybe it's because of the additional entrance fee. The short trek is a good cardio- I found myself catching breath when we reached the top.

It was a Friday when we went there. There were only 3 groups that time and we had the whole place for ourselves! It's usually crowded during weekend, so best to go there on weekdays.

WHAT TO DO

1. Spend overnight and sleep in a tent.

2. Sip morning coffee with the sound of the birds chirping and the gushing waters at the background.

3. Unleash the 'Master Chef' in you.

4. Take a plunge.

5. Mag- 'moments of love'.

6. Use the floater and go boating.

7. Celebrate ' San Juan Fiesta' and make 'basaan'. Ahihihi

8. Relive 'scout' days and roast mallows over bonfire.

9. Visit the recently opened lagoon. (Photos from Batlag Official FB Page)

  • No reservations/ booking
  • Best to visit the area on a week day if you prefer less crowd.
  • Batlag Falls is located on top of Daranak Falls. You will have to pay P50 to enter Daranak Falls as this is the same entrance to Batlag.

  • Plastic or styro cups and plates aren't alowed. So are plastic bags.
  • Be responsible travelers. Don't pick plants. Don't write on the rocks. Dispose your trash properly.
Your next out-of-town trip need not be expensive. Batlag Falls is a must-visit for that well-deserved rest, relaxation and recreation.
