Rated PG: Puerto Galera

Along with my good buds Whey and Arnie, we went to Puerto Galera last Sunday.Nangati ang paa ko gumala. Sayang din ang Monday holiday kasi.

Pasado alas-sais ng umaga ng dumating kami sa DLTBCo bus station para sumakay papuntang Batangas Pier. From there, sumakay kami ng Minolo Ferry. By 10.30am, nasa White Beach na kami ng Puerto Galera.

We decided to stay at Mindoro Korea dahil gusto kong may swimming pool. Sinalubong kami ng mga fire dancers, confetti, magarang fireworks display at masigabong palakpakan as we checked in. Chos.

After a quick late breakfast, freshen up lang ng konti and then nag-ikot ikot na kami.

Inferness sa view:

Ayaw namin matusta sa init ng araw dahil katanghaliang tapat kaya't di muna kami nagswim on our first day. Alam nyo na, baka magalit na naman si Dra. Belo. Ahihihi.

On our 2nd day, we went island hopping and visited Tamaraw Falls and Virgin Island.

Clear, green and turquoise waters, abundant coral reefs, school of fish-- the view was really spectacular! I remember my boss once told me that he had the best snorkeling experience at Puerto Galera- and he was right! I thought I had the most astounding snorkeling activities at Coron and El Nido- mas bongga sa Puerto Galera.

I wish I had an underwater camera to capture the beauty under the sea. Sobrang ganda, halos maiyak ako sa saya! :)

After swimming with the many fish, we went to Maniknik Island.

Unspoiled shoreline, crystal clear waters, lush palm trees-- perfect for beach bumming!

After spending time in the waters of Maniknik Island, we dropped by the market to buy stuff for lunch and then off we went to Tamaraw Falls.

May man-made pool din coming from the waters of the fall..and yes, pwede din mag-swim dito.

Our final stop is the Virgin Island..

Relaxing view, calm and clear waters, uncrowded shoreline-- Virgin Island is indeed a secluded paradise in Puerto Galera.

Before going back to our crib at the White Beach, we stopped by this area to enjoy the view.

Our final day was spent buying pasalubong and swimming at the resort pool and beach front. Before lunch, we headed the port to board the ferry back to Batangas Pier.

RAVES:

- Best snorkeling spot to date! I've been through the waters of Boracay, Bohol, Coron, El Nido, Apo Island and even Pattaya of Thailand but nothing compares to the amazing underwater marvel of Puerto Galera!
- Super affordable rooms during off peak season..Ahihihi. We got an aircon room for 1k a night (shared by 3).
- Glorious sunset (Click here to view photos.)
- Clear waters. Need I say more?

RANT:

- Overpriced 'yelo' at 10 pesos.. lol. Baka 'Wilkins' ang ginamit. :)

As this area is just some hours away from Manila, I'd definitely comeback for a quick weekend trip again.

I'm in love with Puerto Galera! The 'lakwatsero' is really happy! Aprub!
