Originally, Bagasbas is part of the itinerary. But no one in our group is interested to surf so we decided to just stay at Calaguas.

Tid- Bits:

* It's super hot in the island. Make sure you cover yourself with sunscreen protection. Wear and travel light.

* Yes, there's a comfort/shower room. But lower your standards- it's made of 'sawali'. Dont get scared yet- it has light during the night and a door to keep your CR duties private. A bucket of water costs P10, a drum of water at P20. Just call the attention of the ever reliable 'water attendants' and your bucket of water will be waiting at the door. :)

* The hill climb is a highly recommendable itinerary. Once on top, you'll have the magnificent view of the whole Calaguas Island. Ask the teens in the island to show you the way. Leave them a tip for guiding your steps. We shelled 20/pax for our guide.

* Bring drinking water. 'Nuff said.

* There are no hotels nor lodges in the island. (There's an area though where 'kubo' can be rented.) You will be sleeping in the tent. Bring pillow and mat for comfort.

* You can bring your kids. That is, if they're not afraid of waves. The 1.5 hour boat ride that we had to the island was a little bumpy. Guess, it depends on what time you leave. But yeah, there are many kids when we're there.

* There's no phone signal at the beach. There's Smart and Globe signal at the hill though. :)

* This is not Boracay. There's no night life. If you're the kind of person who enjoys counting the stars at night or simply listening to the relaxing waves of the sea more than partying, then this is the place for you.

* Dont forget to bring your camera, because Calaguas is picture perfect.

I super enjoyed my stay at Calaguas. Im sure my friends did, too.

It is my hope to see this island in it's current state. It wont be Calaguas if it becomes developed or becomes as noisy and as busy as Boracay.

Set foot and experience the wonderful vacation that we had. :P

BTW, did I mention we got the package at P3100/pax for a group of 10? :P

PS. Thank you The Outdoor Freak ( http://theoutdoorfreak.net/) for this seamless vacation.
