President Noy to Wear Buendia

President-apparent Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III is all set for his proclamation as the country's 15th chief executive on Tuesday.

He will be wearing a traditional barong Tagalog designed by Filipino designer JC Buendia, who has been designing most of President Arroyo's outfits.

The barong, usually worn in formal affairs, is an embroidered garment that is worn untucked over an undershirt.

Aquino chose from 2 of Buendia's designs -- one had the iconic ribbon embroidered on the left part of the chest, while the other, a Philippine map. Both were made from a combination of pineapple leaf and abaca fibers.

He chose the one with the ribbon, a symbol that was closely associated with his parents and his presidential campaign.

"It's a symbol of the (country's) struggle today, and I want to be sure that I don't lose my ground," he said.

Noynoy's stylist?

Aquino, who just came from a nearly week-long hiatus, looked quite relaxed when he faced the press on Monday.

But will he look good enough come proclamation day?

Just a few days ago, his sister, Kris Aquino-Yap, reportedly tapped Liz Uy to become the President-apparent's stylist.

The well-known stylist and ex-girlfriend of actor John Lloyd Cruz, however, did not confirm or deny the report.

Aquino's camp, for their part, said there is no confirmation yet on the matter.

In an effort to improve her brother's public image, Yap has asked Aquino to undergo Mesoscalp treatment, which involves the injection of vitamins, hormones and minerals into the scalp to stimulate hair growth.

The President-apparent, however, did not heed his sister's request.
